How to do it

  1. Attach a straight bar to the middle pulley of a cable machine. Lie on a flat bench with your head positioned near the pulley. Grasp the bar or rope with an overhand grip, your arms extended straight up above your chest.
  2. Lower the bar towards your forehead by bending your elbows, keeping your upper arms stationary.
  3. Just before touching your forehead, extend your arms back to the starting position, focusing on contracting your triceps.
  4. Repeat for the desired number of repetitions.

Form tips

  • Keep your upper arms stationary and only move your forearms to isolate the triceps.
  • Focus on the contraction of your triceps as you extend your arms.
  • Exhale as you extend your arms and inhale as you lower the bar.
