How to do it
- Stand facing a cable machine with a straight bar attached to the low pulley and hold it with your arms straight.
- Hinge at the hips until your torso leans about 30 degrees forward, keeping your back flat.
- Shrug your shoulders straight up toward your ears as high as you can and hold briefly at the top.
- Lower your shoulders slowly to the starting position and repeat.
Form tips
- Keep your arms straight; the movement comes only from your shoulders.
- Hold the 30-degree lean for the whole set so the line of pull stays the same.
- Don't roll your shoulders: lift straight up and lower straight down.
