How to do it

  1. Lie on the floor with your legs extended straight on the floor. Pass a rope with handles under your right forefoot, holding the handles with both hands.
  2. Keep your back flat against the floor and gently pull the rope towards you, flexing your foot and bringing your toes towards your shin.
  3. Straighten your leg fully to deepen the stretch in your calf muscle.
  4. Hold the stretch for 20-30 seconds, then release the rope and switch to the other foot, repeating the stretch.

Form tips

  • Breathe deeply and steadily throughout the stretch to help relax your muscles.
  • Use a moderate amount of tension on the rope to ensure a good stretch without causing discomfort or pain.
  • Focus on feeling the stretch in your calf muscle, not your lower back or hamstrings.
