How to do it

  1. Begin in a plank position on the floor with your hands directly under your shoulders and your body forming a straight line from head to heels. The padded stool should be in front of you.
  2. Engage your core and place your right hand on the stool, followed by your left hand, lifting your upper body onto the stool.
  3. Reverse the movement by placing your right hand back on the floor, followed by your left hand, lowering your body back into the plank position.
  4. Continue climbing up and down the stool, alternating which hand leads the movement for the desired number of repetitions or duration.

Form tips

  • Focus on controlled movements, ensuring you have a stable grip on the stool to avoid slipping.
  • Use a stable stool or bench to support your hands and ensure it is placed on a non-slip surface to prevent movement.
  • Ensure your shoulders remain directly over your hands to avoid unnecessary strain on your wrists and shoulders.
