How to do it
- Begin by sitting on the floor with your legs bent, feet flat on the floor, and hands placed behind you with your fingers pointing towards your body.
- Engage your glutes and press through your palms and feet to lift your hips off the floor, creating a tabletop position with your body.
- Simultaneously lift your right hand and left foot off the floor and twist your torso to reach your right hand towards your left foot, attempting to touch your left toe.
- Return your hand and leg to the floor and repeat the movement on the opposite side by lifting your left hand and reaching towards your right foot. Continue alternating sides for the desired number of repetitions.
Form tips
- Perform the twist with control to maximize muscle activation and prevent injury.
- Ensure your shoulders remain down and away from your ears to avoid unnecessary strain.
- Breathe steadily throughout the exercise, exhaling as you twist and reach towards your toe and inhaling as you return to the starting position.
- Use a mat or soft surface to support your hands and feet to prevent discomfort during the exercise.
