How to do it
- Set an incline bench to a 45-degree angle and sit back against it, holding a dumbbell in each hand with your arms extended at your sides, palms facing each other.
- Shrug your shoulders upward, lifting the dumbbells towards your ears, without bending your elbows.
- Slowly lower your shoulders back to the starting position, maintaining control throughout the movement. Repeat for the desired number of repetitions.
Form tips
- Exhale as you shrug your shoulders upward and inhale as you lower them.
- Focus on lifting your shoulders straight up and down, avoiding any circular or forward motion.
- Use a slow and controlled motion to maximize muscle engagement and avoid swinging.
