How to do it
- Secure your feet at the end of a decline bench, lie back with your knees slightly bent, and cross your hands close to your chest.
- Engage your core and lift your upper body off the bench while twisting your torso to the right.
- Squeeze your obliques at the top of the movement, ensuring that the contraction is felt along the side of your abdomen.
- Slowly lower your upper body back to the starting position and repeat the movement, this time twisting your torso to the left. Continue alternating sides for the desired number of repetitions.
Form tips
- Breathe out as you twist and crunch, and breathe in as you return to the starting position.
- Ensure your lower back stays in contact with the bench to support your spine.
- Keep your feet securely anchored to the bench to stabilize your body throughout the exercise.
