How to do it

  1. Step onto the stepmill and select a steady, comfortable pace.
  2. Stand tall with your chest up and shoulders back; rest your hands lightly on the rails for balance only.
  3. Drive through the whole foot on each step, letting your glutes and quads do the work.
  4. Keep a smooth, rhythmic cadence and breathe steadily for the full duration.

Form tips

  • Stay upright — don't lean or hang on the handrails, as that removes the load from your legs.
  • Place your full foot on each step rather than just the toes to protect your calves and knees.
  • Keep the pace controlled and even; let your legs, not momentum, carry each step.
