How to do it
- Stand sideways to the cable machine with the cable set to the lowest position, handle in the hand furthest from the machine
- Raise the cable out to your side until your arm reaches shoulder height, keeping a slight bend in your elbow
- Pause briefly at the top position, focusing on squeezing your shoulder muscle
- Lower the cable slowly and with control back to the starting position, resisting the weight on the way down
Form tips
- Maintain constant tension throughout the movement
- Keep your elbow slightly bent in a fixed position
- Raise only to shoulder height, not higher
- Move with slow, controlled motion both up and down
