How to do it
- Start in child pose: knees wide, big toes touching, hips back toward the heels.
- Walk both hands out long in front of you, forehead resting on the mat.
- Walk the hands over to the right side of the mat without lifting the hips.
- Press the left hand firmly into the mat to deepen the stretch through the left side body and latissimus.
- Hold for half the time, then walk the hands to the left side and repeat on the other side.
Form tips
- Keep the hips heavy toward the heels — do not let the buttocks lift.
- Feel the stretch through the opposite latissimus and side ribs.
- Breathe into the side body, expanding the rib cage with each inhale.
- Soften the jaw and the brow.
