How to do it
- Stand with your feet shoulder-width apart and your arms at your sides.
- Bring both hands behind you and place them on your lower back, fingers pointing downward.
- Gently push your hips forward and lean your upper body backward, feeling a stretch in your chest and shoulders.
- Hold the stretch for a few seconds, then return to the starting position. Repeat the movement for the desired number of repetitions.
Form tips
- Engage your core muscles to support your lower back as you lean backward.
- Avoid overextending your lower back; only lean back as far as comfortable without causing pain.
- Breathe deeply throughout the exercise, inhaling as you prepare to stretch and exhaling as you lean back.
