How to do it

  1. Stand with your feet wider than shoulder-width apart, toes pointing slightly outward. Place a resistance band under your feet.
  2. Hold the ends of the resistance band with both hands near your shoulders, palms facing forward and elbows pointing down.
  3. Lower your body into a squat by bending your knees and pushing your hips back. Keep your chest up and your back straight.
  4. Lower until your thighs are parallel to the floor, then push through your heels to return to the starting position. Repeat for the desired number of repetitions.

Form tips

  • Breathe steadily: inhale as you lower into the squat and exhale as you push back up to the starting position.
  • Focus on keeping your knees in line with your toes to avoid inward collapse.
  • Ensure your chest stays up and avoid leaning forward excessively.
